Attracted to the organic shapes and the beauty of metamorphic transformations, Clara has embraced the encaustic technique combining it with other more contemporary mediums to create images with great depth, varied textured that take the viewer in a hypnotic way through a meditative experience combining layers of transparencies that reveal unique and unrepeatable forms, spreading the sense of wonder she lives while she witnesses the effect of the flames against the pigmented wax and invites the observer to a creative journey within themselves.   Clara Pinilla is a Colombian artist with an extent experience both as a gallerist and artist. Clara was the owner of a prestigious art gallery in Bogota, Colombia for over two decades, where she had the opportunity to meet various renowned Colombian artists and was able to study several painting techniques along the way. After selling her business in 2010, she decide to focus on her then new discovered passion, the encaustic technique which she fell in love with while sourcing for new artists for her gallery.  She took several workshops abroad to learn to master the medium and then she gave it her own touch by combining it with other mediums such as ink and acrylic giving birth to her own particular style. Clara currently participates in several private exhibitions and holds online workshops to spread the knowledge of the encaustic technique.
