Vivian DelValle. Mexican Encaustic, Mixed media and Digital artist. She came to Canada in 1995. Vivian says Art saved her life. After settling in Toronto, Vivian began experimenting with mixed media and photography in a pretty dark moment in her life. When she discovered encaustic, she fell in love with this medium, and Vivian began working with encaustic and mixing it with her photography and mixed media art. Vivian is a self-taught encaustic artist. She took classes with Alicia Tombley (an amazing encaustic artist is Seattle U.S.A) and several Canadian artist in Toronto. Through her encaustic art, Vivian reflects, explores, documents and shares her story, and the stories of her ancestors. For Vivian, working with encaustic it has been a way of breaking the cycle of historical traumas, which have injured several generations in her family.
